Matthew + Zachary | Felt Estate Wedding
"I've loved you three summers now, honey, but I want 'em all"
After spending newly 12 years documenting wedding days, it was finally time to step on the other side of the lens. Bringing our very own dream wedding to life was the most surreal and exciting experience.
From the anxious morning jitters getting ready with our wedding party, seeing our guests start to arrive for the ceremony, all the way to surprising Zachary with an unexpected set of creepy guests on the dance floor, living out this day was everything we could have hoped or asked for.
We set out to throw a giant party, one big celebration to gather all of our loved ones together and toast to the start of a new chapter. We had our dream venue. We had our favorite people there by our side. We wore custom emerald suits monogramed with surprise messages for each other. We even had PERFECT weather for a June wedding day right along the shores of Lake Michigan.
It might be cliche to say, but it truly was the best day ever

"Having our people arrive the day before really set everything into motion that this was finally happening! Being able to reveal the curtain on everything we had been working towards was like seeing a dream come to life."

I’ll meet you at the Chapel…
We went through quite a few iterations of what the day would look like while planning. When we finally landed on hosting the wedding in Michigan, the Felt Estate was our first choice in venue.
Resting beside the Saugatuck Dunes State Park, a place that holds a great deal of significance for us, we wanted to share a piece of the magic of this place with all of our loved ones. What’s more, the estate provided exactly what we had envisioned for our day, both in aesthetic and the experience for our loved ones — an all-in-one location that felt open, grand, and yet somehow familiar, like home.
"Everyone imagines their big day in different manifestations, whether it’s colors or floral, but our wedding was about the experience everyone would have together - signature drinks included of course 🥂"
-Zachary
One of the most unique parts of the day, honestly, was getting to share it with my entire Shadow Shine team. While shooting any wedding is a lot of hard work, even when you’re friends with the couple, it meant the world to me, not just to have them there by our side through the course of the day; it meant everything knowing these memories were being cared for and preserved by the best artists I know — and I’m not biased on that one.
"For our guests, family, friends and loved ones - I wanted them to feel welcomed and celebrated in the way that we would be celebrated. Open conversations, mingling, good vibes, great food and better company."

Taking a page out of Taylor’s Eras Tour playbook with a mid-performance outfit change
Even after all the photos, the speeches, and surprise announcements, I still had one last “killer” twist for Zachary…
10/10 would recommend marrying your best friend (twice) and inviting all of your favorite people to dance the night away. Will forever love this day, these people, and this husband of mine to Andromeda and back.
